In this module I analysed the manufacturing process for a composite floor panel. This involved assessing and optimising the draping of the reinforcement fabric to minimise detrimental shearing of the fabric. The coupled injection/curing of the resin matrix was also simulated and the temperature profile througout this process was optimised using a stochastic optimsing technique.
Also, the material selection of the composite mould and functional requirements/existing similar patents for the composite panel were assessed.
